David's approach to sculpting and working with granite allows him to maximize his incredibly refined technical skills. He favors working with many types including Chandler Bay, Heritage Valley, Emerald Pearl, Dakota Mahogany (granite), as well as local granite from Sullivan Maine. He served as head technician for such prestigious sculpture events as the Schoodic International Sculpture Symposium (SISS) at Acadia National Park, and Round Top Center for the Arts International Stone Carving Symposium.

David has advised and supported stone sculptors including Don Justin Meserve, and Albert Paley, and has done collaborative work with metal smiths Curtis LaFollette of the LaFollette group, blacksmith Andy Leckand (Scottish Lion Wrought Iron), and fine jeweler Jerry Lauffer (Lauffer & Tweet Jewelers, NY). Early in his career he founded a graphic design company, Archigraphia, to design and install large-scale murals, trompe-l’oeil works, and architectural graphics.
