Cynthia Stroud graduated magna cum laude from Maryland Institute Collage of Art, where she majored in sculpture. She also studied at the Philadelphia Collage of Art, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, New York University, Parson's School of Design and The New School for Social Research, in NYC. Her paintings and sculpture are in private collections in the United States, Europe and Latin America.

"As a sculptor, I use a wide variety of media, which allows for expressive diversity and the development of three-dimensional space. The media range from bronze, clay, stone, and wood in sculpture, to painting media, collage, and mobiles. I pursue the choreography of light and form in images to express the vitality and movement of a given moment. These might be the play of light across water, fireworks, animals play-fighting, or humans in flight. I choose subjects in order to capture the nuances of gesture and energy in motion, to document the intricate dance of beings in nature."
