MaJo Keleshian teaches drawing at the University of Maine as well as workshops at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts. Her work has been shown in one-person and group exhibitions throughout New England, including several Maine Biennials, and is in the permanent collections of Eastern Maine Medical Center, the US Department of State, and numerous private collections.

She describes her work as a form of visual haiku, brief moments that attempt to evoke a memory, a feeling, an experience . . . from the landscape, the seasons, the weather, the light. These abstracted images are created by applying many layers of a water soluble wax medium on paper. The colors are repeatedly wiped away and reapplied until a "moment" is captured. Both intention and spontaneity are part of the process.
