Arthur Hardigg
Hardigg studied at Tufts University and the Museum School and has been a member of the Bromfield Art Gallery since 1999. His work consists of figurative paintings and drawings. They have an abstract quality, being drawn from imagination rather than from life.

"Every drawing starts with a blank sheet, and the goal of the draughtsman is to animate that space, so that the lines look as if they had asserted themselves from beneath the surface of the paper, like branches breaking free from frozen rain. You want the drawing to retain the beauty and transparency of the empty page, and for the image to emerge from its surface like a visitor, or a memory."
