"When I build a painting I become a kind of translator. As I work I must surrender to forces unseen and allow the work to unfold. Although they are abstract, narratives emerge in my paintings, opening the door to archetypal energies. Expressing archetypes changes us. If this element is missing, there has been no real contact with the archetype."
