"The past couple of years have been marked by a sense of renewed inspiration and exploration of new materials to be added to my paintings. I have been working on larger panels and incorporating different weaves of burlap. I work with the burlap in a manner allowing me to have different layers of paint, almost concealed but still visible. This give the normal flat surface of the panel an extra dimension, and a shroud of mystery. These new paintings also refer back to art work from "primitive" societies, where art was made as a means of communication, initiation, healing, or secret transmissions.

"I hope to create a dialogue between the viewer and my work, a sense of knowing and exploring into a secret world that does not need words or explanations."
